Tosin Ajose is a business lawyer with over a decade experience. She is well known for her commercial savvy, excellent analytical skills, vast transactional experience and her relentless desire to add value to her clients through innovative solutions, forward thinking and attention to details.
An astute public speaker and an IFLR ranked lawyer, with over 100 transactions to her credit across, Real Estate and Construction, Infrastructure and Projects, Corporate Commercial, Mergers & Acquisition, Private Equity, Capital Markets and Finance (project/corporate) practice areas. Tosin, until very recently headed the Real Estate/Construction, Capital Markets and Corporate Commercial Teams at Detail Commercial Solicitors, a commercial law firm in Nigeria. She is currently the Lead Advisor in DealHQ, a boutique transaction advisory firm in Lagos, Nigeria.
Tosin, has done extensive policy work in the Financial Services space as a Legal Enabler under the Central Bank of Nigeria’s FSS 2020 initiative. Tosin is a volunteer with the Presidential Delivery Unit, office of the President Federal Republic of Nigeria and a member of the Mining thematic group of the National Economic Summit Group. She is also a member of the Market Infrastructure and Commodities subcommittees and Capital Markets Committee of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Tosin is a highly sought after thought leader in the Real Estate, Construction and Capital Markets space, she holds to her credit over 30 speaking engagements annually both within and outside the Country. Tosin is a regular resource person and trainer at the Pan African University (Lagos Business School) and the Centre for Housing Studies (University of Lagos). Tosin is a member of the adjunct Faculty of the Department of Estate Management, University of Lagos where she teaches Business Economics under the Masters in Housing Programme. She was one of the young Nigerians shortlisted for the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship in 2016, even though she did not make the final selection.
In 2017, Tosin was awarded the highly coveted 40 under 40 lawyers in Nigeria by the Nigerian Legal Awards. Tosin is a member of the Market Infrastructure and Commodities technical sub-committees of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Capital Markets Committee. She was also recently drafted into the Research Education and Engagements Thematic Group under the Lagos Financial Centre for Sustainability(FC4S). she sits on the Board of an Architectural Consulting Firm – Façade Solutions, a Construction Company – Oju-Ile Ltd, Manufacturing Company- Rotoprint Limited and a Downstream Oil and Gas Marketing Company – Optima Energy Limited where her enterprise and leadership skills are variedly acknowledged. Tosin was recently adopted as a Member of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria. She is recognized as a strong negotiator and a first consideration when negotiating controversial matters with opposing transaction teams.
